$10 FNM Booster Draft!
Well it’s just about time to say good-bye to Return To Ravnica in limited, so we are going to continue our tradition of ushering out a set with a $10 draft! This Friday’s draft will start at 7pm. First and second place along with two random players will also receive this month’s DCI promo card Searing Spear. So, don’t miss your last chance to draft this popular Magic set.
Also, don’t forget that next Friday, January 18th will be the premier of Modern as a FNM format. Time to dig out your older cards and compete in this increasingly popular format. Please check the Magic web site at www.magicthegathering.com for sets that are legal in Modern along with its banned list.
And finally, Standard makes it’s last FNM appearance on 1/25/13 before Gatecrash becomes legal. Hope to see you at these great events!
EDH Tournaments
Pauper Commander (EDH) Tournament 1/19/2013 at 5pm. Entry fee is $10 and if we get 18 people, a Commander’s Arsenal will be given to 1st place. If we don’t get 18, but get at least 10, a From The Vault Realms or 1/2 of a Return to Ravnica box will be given to first place.
This tournament will be a 1v1 Tournament. We will be playing swiss style with cut to top 4 or 8 depending on turnout. Round time will be 50 minutes. Each player can have a 10 card sideboard. All other regular commander rules apply besides the ones listed below (http://mtgcommander.net/rules.php).
Your commander HAS to be an UNCOMMON creature, any uncommon, not just a legendary creature, and we are using the color identity rule. Therefore Ana Battlemage (http://magiccards.info/pc/en/124.html) is a Green Blue Black commander. Every other card in your deck HAS to be a COMMON. The banned list is Sol Ring, Maze of Ith and Strip Mine.

Gatecrash Prerelease
Magic’s next set Gatecrash continues the Ravnica storyline, by taking players inside the remaining five guilds: Orzhov, Gruul, Simic, Dimir, and Boros. Where will your loyalties stand and who will you ride with for control of the City Plane of Ravnica? These will be answered during our Gatecrash Prerelease events being held on Saturday, January 26th. We are running three sealed events for Gatecrash.
The first starting at 9am, is a special “by invitation only” tournament for our most loyal Magic players. Please contact one of our staff members if you would like to be included in this event.
The next tournament starts at 1pm and is open to all players. The 9am and 1pm events format is single player sealed deck and the cost is $30.
The days final event is Two-Headed Giant sealed deck and will start at approximately 5pm. The cost is $50 for each two player team.
All the events will use the same type of Guild Packs that were first introduced at the Return to Ravnica prereleases. Each Guild Pack will contain five Gatecrash booster packs and one guild booster. The guild booster will also contain a special DCI promo card specific to your guild. Players will once again be allowed to use this promo card in their decks if they wish.
As the product for these events was once again highly allocated due to the expected popularity, we are STRONGLY encouraging all players to preregister for the event to have a chance at the guild of their choice. We are only receiving 19 of each Guild Pack. Please stop by the store to preregister and choose your guilds. Payment is needed at the time of sign-up.
We are also taking pre-orders for Gatecrash booster boxes. Pre-order cost is $110 + tax. This price is cash or credit card only. Unfortunately we cannot accept store credit for booster box pre-orders. The release date is Friday, February 1st. Orders for more than 2 boxes cannot be guaranteed on release weekend due to allocation amounts.
Pokemon and Yugioh leagues continue each weekend at their regular times.
Pokemon league run from 11am-2pm and is FREE for all players. League is a casual format amd players can earn league badges just like Ash on the TV show. Nintendo is also offering each player a FREE case to display your badges in. Please check with our Gym Leader for info on how to order your case!
YuGiOh league runs each Saturday from 2pm-5pm. Cost is only $5 and each player receives an Astral Pack for participating. Additional store credit is also awarded to each weeks top finishers.
Casual Magic and open gaming is available Friday afternoons from 2pm-6pm and Saturday evenings from 6pm to 10pm. Players are always welcome to stop by and get in a game.
